Why Pathways Exists

There comes a point when something no longer feels right.

Perhaps your child is no longer thriving in school. Perhaps you're questioning whether mainstream education is meeting their needs. Perhaps you're facing difficult decisions and feeling overwhelmed by conflicting advice, reports and uncertainty about what comes next.

When you're trying to make the right decisions for your child, it can feel as though everyone has an opinion, yet very few people take the time to help you make sense of it all.

That's why Pathways exists.

I created Pathways because I believe every family deserves the time, space and support to understand their options and make informed decisions with confidence.

To me, a pathway isn't a fixed route or a predetermined destination. It's the journey of finding the education, support and opportunities that allow a child and their family to thrive.

Hello, I'm Charlotte

I'm Charlotte Green, founder of Pathways Parent Consultancy.

Like many of the families I now support, my journey began not as a professional, but as a parent.

As the parent of neurodiverse children, I have experienced first-hand the uncertainty that comes when a child isn't thriving in education. I understand the endless research, the difficult conversations, the emotional weight of making important decisions and the feeling of trying to find the right pathway when the route ahead isn't always clear.

For more than twenty years, I worked in learning and development, helping people build confidence, navigate change and make informed decisions. Those same skills now sit at the heart of Pathways.

Over time, I naturally found myself supporting other parents, helping them prepare for meetings, understand reports, make sense of complex processes and explore the options available to them. Time and again, I saw the difference it made when families had someone alongside them who could offer both practical guidance and genuine understanding.

That experience inspired me to create Pathways.

I wanted to build the kind of support I wish more families had access to: calm, compassionate and practical guidance from someone who understands both the systems and the realities of family life.

I chose the name Pathways because no two educational journeys are the same.

Every child is different.

Every family is different.

That's why I don't believe in one size fits all advice. My role is to walk alongside families as they discover the pathway that feels right for them.

Today, it's a privilege to support families as they make sense of their options, move forward with confidence and find the pathway that's right for them.

Every time a parent tells me they feel less overwhelmed, more confident or finally able to see a way forward, it reminds me why I started Pathways in the first place.

"Every family deserves to feel heard, understood and supported as they navigate their own unique journey. That simple belief is, and always will be, the heart of Pathways.""
